As the current Forecast by the BoM for Port Phillip indicates strong winds in excess of 20 knots  a new course has been drawn up to use the protected waters of Hobsons Bay that are behind the Gellibrand Breakwater where 18 knots of wind can be expected. An amendment to the Allocated Course Sailing Instructions that describes this additional course, course 10, is attached to this mail.

An on water evaluation of the state of these waters and their suitability for Classic Yacht Racing will take place at 8:30 am on Saturday. Cup Regatta Skippers will be informed by SMS or email or by phone of the decision to race or not. At this time the 2014 Cup Regatta racing commences at 10:00am. If heavy sea conditions are prevailing then a decision will be made for the afternoon racing.

Our much looked forward to Guineas and Inter Association challenge was short lived. The on water conditions blew up during the racing. With gear damage happening the decision was made to shut down the racing after one race.
