Congratulations to Kingurra taking out the Race 3 corrected time and line honours. Taking every wind shift and fast kite pops were features of her race. For the best sail and best looking boat of the day you can’t go past Dingo. Under the firm hand of RMYS Club Captain Monica Jones, Jim Hutchinsons Tumlaren Dingo on her first race of the series, was a treat to watch. Particularly on her second time run down to RMYS Mark D. Congratulations to Dingo. Congratulations to Craig Browns team on Cyan for their acceptance of a sad but true story. More coments on notable Race 3 performances across the fleet will follow. Your Handicapper

To claims to the best start of the race Zephyr and Fair Winds Watching Kingurra clear out from the fleet makes their claim a question. Best looking start was by Merlin. Too bad no photo’s of Merlins fine looking bow throwing out water on her way to giving Marie Louise III a hurry up.

Zephyr on her way to a fine Race 3 start
Fair Winds goes behind Snow Goose after her fast statt

Classic Summer Series Race 8 3rd March 2019 .

Race 8 Pursuit start Results including corrected time analysis using Race 8 handicaps developed for assigning Race 8 group start times. 2018/2019 Summer Series Locker 57 Trophy Aggregate and Marie Louise III Consistency Trophy status. First over the finish honours went to Cam Smith on Manu KaRere. Using spinakkers was the secret that kept them out of the clutches of a hard chasing Marie Louise III. Best time on the course honours went to Mercedes III. Again flying a kite was the key to her pipping Boambillee by 20 seconds for the fastest on course time. Corrected times honours based on actual on course times were used for the Marie Louise III trophy calculations. Best corrected times were Manu Ka Rere, Marie Louise III and Bungoona.

Locker 57 Trophy

Congratulation to the team on the Tumlaren Avian lead by skipper Roger Dundas for taking out the Locker 57 Trophy by 29 points Equal second, each on 31 points, went to Manu Ka Rere and Snow Goose. congratulations goes to Cam Smith who skippered the John Guzzwell Trekka Manu Ka Rere home and to George Low and his team that pushed both Avian and Manu Ka Rere hard right through the 2018/2019 Summer Series.

The Marie Louise III Consistency Trophy is a combined series trophy. The intent of the Trophy is to acknowledge the yacht whose back calculated handicap is consistently close to its allocated handicap. The lead scorer in the series is Avian followed by Snow Goose, Boambillee and Zephyr.

Light winds with a shortened course made the race a one mark race. Tumlarens featured big time in Race 7. Congratulations go to Dingo for her first on corrected time. Jim Hutchinson with his crew simply blitzed the fleet. A brilliant light wind sail. Mercedes III, with Martin Ryan holding his nerve did a one tack hitch along the shore, was back to her old ways of taking out line honors in a big way. Not be be left behind after her one metre over the start line recall Manuka Rere with Cam Smith on the helm and all fresh from his HBYC Sea Pilots race the previous day didn’t put any of her nineteen feet wrong to take out the third podium placing. A race 7 honorable mention must go to the fourth placing by the Tumlaren Avian. With Mark Chew on the helm all that skill from helming, Paula the Aust. Olympic Re. Dragon.
