anchorageRace 2 will conducted for the Association by the Hobsons Bay Yacht Club under the control of Tony Dawson, HBYC’s Vice-Commodore and Race Director, is scheduled to start at 10:30 am on Sunday Oct 20.

Attached are the Sailing Instructions and Entry list. The allocated handicaps are based on the shortened Race 1 performance’s. Forecast conditions for this coming Sunday indicate we will be close to the threshold of our maximum wind speed. Discussions on this subject with the Race Director have been started and a decision to go ahead, or not, with the race will be made early Sunday morning. Course H8 or H9 will be used if northerly conditions of approx. 20 knots is prevailing.

Our Race 2 Sponsor, Anchorage Marina, has issued an invite to all members of the Classic Yacht Association to enjoy their hospitality with a BBQ at the Anchorage Marina that will kick off around 1:00pm. After the race, Skippers are invited to tie up to the Anchorage Marina Wharf on the south side of theMarina. Use the dredged marina main channel, not through the moorings.

The first Classic Yacht on corrected time will receive an invite for a dinner for two, meal only, at the
Anchorage Marina Restaurant. Results will be announced at the BBQ. The Association commends your support of this sponsorship of our Classic Yacht racing on Port Phillip.

A status on the 2013 Regatta preparations.

Co-ordination work with the Melbourne City Marina management is ongoing. Our Marina “mine host” Roger Dundas and your Regatta racing man are meeting up again with the Melbourne City Marina management to finalise the marina liasing arrangements. We have already filled up berths on one side of the Marina. Sailing Instructions are being finalised. Crews for our Friday afternoon Guineas Cup and the Elliott challenge between the Couta Boat Association, the CYAA and the CYANZ still being worked on.

Put your hand up for some Classic “young at heart” racing.

The Sunday Concours d’Elegance is being sponsored by Karen Batsons Restaurant “Cookie” with a $150.00 meal voucher. We also have UK Halsey and Safety Marine Australia sponsoring valuable
trophies. More next week.

That’s it for now, regards to all. Finger crossed that the BoM are wrong again.
